Less Is More. (You’ve heard me say this a lot!) <a name="less-is-more"></a>
Sure, having a huge collection of makeup brushes might look impressive, but the truth is: most of us can get by with just 2–3 good brushes.
Even as a professional makeup artist, I’ve done quick applications for clients using just a few multitasking brushes — and guess what? It works perfectly fine.
I get it, I really do. It’s fun to watch beauty tutorials and see all those gorgeous brush sets people are using. But keep in mind:
Most of these influencers are gifted these brushes by brands. If they had to spend their own money, I highly doubt they’d own half as many!
You do not need 29 makeup brushes. Trust me.
Still not convinced? Here’s a fun fact: many pro makeup artists (myself included) often use their clean fingers instead of brushes to apply certain products! In fact, there are times when fingertips actually give you better results.
I talk a lot about this in my book because honestly, if what you already have is working beautifully, there’s no need to rush out and buy something new. Practicality > Hype. Always.
